Modigliani, Soutine and other legends of Montparnasse
Faberge Museum in St. Petersburg at the end of the year for its visitors prepared all the fun! Recently, an exhibition "Modigliani, Soutine and other legends of Montparnasse". This is a wonderful continuation of a series of exhibitions of the most famous and influential artists of the XX century, within which works of Frida Kahlo and Salvador Dali have already taken place.

This time, the Russian viewers are expecting unique exhibits - the work of leading artists of the Paris school of the first third of the XX century from the collection of Jonas Netter. For more than 70 years, this collection of paintings, which includes the best works of Amedeo Modigliani, Chaim Soutine, Maurice Utrillo, Moses Kisling, Maurice Vlaminck, Andre Derain, Suzanne Valadon and other famous masters, remained inaccessible to the general public. Only recently, the viewer has the opportunity to re-discover a series of paintings that are unique in nature.

The key exhibits of the exhibition were the works of the Italian artist Amadeo Modigliani, among which his main masterpieces are sensual portraits, including three works on which the modernist embodied his muse - Jeanne Ebutern. This, perhaps, the most romantic works in the exposition.

In addition to works by Modigliani, the audience can also see still lifes and portraits of Haim Soutine at the exhibition, as well as the painting of Maurice Utrillo, the author of exquisite Parisian landscapes. And to look at the image of the person who opened the talent of Modigliani to the general public, visitors will be able to thank the artist Moses Kisling. In 1920, he painted a portrait of Jonas Netter - not only a famous collector, but also his friend.

In total, the exhibition presents more than 120 works by artists from the Paris School, which form the core of the unique collection of Jonas Netter.

The exhibition is organized Cultural-historical fund "Communication of times"and Museum of Fabergein St. Petersburg.
