Remembering APTART
Moscow Museum of Modern Art presents an exhibition“Remembering APTART”.

The exhibition presents the works of Nikita Alekseev, Vadim Zakharov, Konstantin Zvezdochotov, George Kizevalter, Yuri Leiderman, Vladimir and Sergey Mironenko, Larisa Rezun-Zvezdochotova, Viktor Skersis, Yuri Albert, Sergei Anufriev, Andrey Filippov.

At the center of the exhibition project is one of the most important phenomena of the Soviet underground - the self-organization of APTART. The core of APTART was dissimilar artists of different generations: Nikita Alekseev, Mikhail Roshal, the Amanita group, Vadim Zakharov and Victor Skersis, Natalia Abalakova and Anatoly Zhigalov, Georgy Kizevalter. Nikolay Panitkov, and Andrey Monastyrsky, and Vladimir Kupriyanov, and Dmitry Prigov participated in the exhibition process. It is extremely important that APTART has become an exhibition space for young artists from Odessa, the so-called Odessa New Wave: Sergey Anufriev, Larisa Rezun, the Peppers group (Oleg Petrenko / Lyudmila Skripkina), Yuri Leiderman, Igor Chatskin, Leonid Voitsekhov.

The exhibition consists of four segments: a kind of total installation from the work of APTART exhibitors (performed mainly in the 1990-2000s, stored in the collection of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art), the archive part, works exhibited directly in APTART and video documentation. The exhibition presents materials from the archive and library of the Center for Contemporary Arts Garage, from the collection of Elena Kuprina-Lyakhovich and Maxim Lyakhovich, from the archive of Margarita and Viktor Tupitsyns, from the collections of Vladimir Mironenko and Vadim Zakharov, from the archive of George Kizevalter.
