Nikolay Astrup: Landscapes of Norway
The Clark Art Institute presents the first North American exhibition dedicated to Norwegian artist Nikolai Astrup (1880–1928), who cleverly woven traditions and innovations into his artistic work. Astrup is considered one of the most important artists of Norway, but basically he is unknown outside his homeland.

Exhibition "Nikolay Astrup: Landscapes of Norway"includes more than eighty-five works in which this brilliant artist and engraver is glorified.

The creativity of Astrup is characterized by an intense colorful palette and the magical realism of its wonderful landscapes. The exhibition presents paintings and woodcuts of all periods of his career.
