Pleasure for the senses: still life
"Pleasure for the senses: still life"- an exhibition that explores the almost 250-year history of the still life genre.

At first glance, these picturesque compositions are easy to appreciate for their aesthetic beauty and skillful rendering. A closer look at these luxurious objects reveals moral nuances and hints of the fleetingness of life.

This exhibition features loans from the Detroit Institute of the Arts and several local collectors, as well as the recent testaments of the late Drew Heinz, including the only Dutch 17th-century still life in the museum’s collection, first introduced to the public.
