This exhibition presents for the first time works from the A. Pushkin State Museum - “Pushkin in“ Boldino ”1949, illustrations for the poem“ Ruslan and Lyudmila ”,“ The Tale of the Fisherman and the Fish ”, the poem“ My Blush critic ”.. ( 1950); “Horse attack of the Pugachevites” (1950), together with graphic works from the collection of the Plastov family (illustrations for the poem “Ruslan and Lyudmila”, the tragedy “Boris Godunov”, etc.).
The exposition is dedicated to the 220th anniversary of the great poet. In turn, the Pushkin theme is one of the very significant in the work of Arkady Aleksandrovich Plastov. The name of the exhibition is connected not only with the master’s work on the poet’s image (along with the gouache of the same name, sketches for it and the work “Pushkin by the Fireplace” are also presented), but also with the understanding of “Boldin Autumn” as a metaphor for creativity, the unrivaled take-off of Pushkin’s genius.
