Vyatka Art Museum. V. M. and A. M. Vasnetsov holds an exhibition"Old Vyatka".
The exposition presents views of the old Vyatka in the works of Nikolai Khokhryakov and Sergey Emelyanov from the funds of the Vyatka Art Museum. The exhibition is complemented by a traditional Dymkovo toy from private collections.
One of the sections of the exhibition is dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the artist Sergei Anatolyevich Emelyanov (1894-1991). In Vyatka, he studied fine art with Nikolai Khokhryakov, and in Moscow with Apollinarius Vasnetsov. The advantage of the landscapes of Sergei Emelyanov lies in the picturesque qualities and in their historical authenticity. The artist appears in them as the creator of historical and architectural landscapes, the successor of the tradition of his teachers.
