In the library and museum of Victor Balager stored one of the oldest collections of the National Museum of the Prado. More than fifty exhibits arrived from Madrid at the end of the nineteenth century and were housed in a large hall called the Pinacoteca. In October 1884, it was open to the public.
The current collection consists of many different styles of art, from the end of the 16th century to the end of the 18th century. There are examples of the most common genres of the time: religious, mythological, historical, court portraits, landscape and some still lifes.
In connection with the celebration of the bicentennial of the Prado Museum, this exhibition "Episodes of history"contributes by showing the entire collection, which has never been shown in full.
