The exposition contains items from the 18th-19th centuries from the collections of the Museum of Moscow, works of contemporary artists, performances by actors and musicians.
The exposition is dedicated to the Governor-General of Moscow Mikhail Volkonsky and the writer, scientist, philosopher Vladimir Odoyevsky, in whose honor the exhibition is named after his eponymous work.
“Cosmorama XVIII” is a special mechanism of seeing history, it is an optical illusion and a time machine that takes viewers to the past thanks to artifacts from the collections of the Museum of Moscow. Many of them are exhibited for the first time. At the exhibition, objects and art of the Age of Enlightenment and Romanticism enter into a conceptual dialogue with the audience.
