Maria Kulikovskaya. My skin is my business
The Odessa Art Museum hosts the exhibition of Maria Kulikovskaya "My skin is my business." The exhibition features more than 30 exhibits created over the past five years, including growth figures, busts and parts of the body. These are the body casts of the artist, made in collaboration with Oleg Vinnichenko with the help of paraffin, chocolate, soap, gypsum and epoxy resins. All of them fix the transformations of the artist's body. Sculpture-casts act as a metaphor for the war in Ukraine, the annexation of the Crimea and the position of women in the world.

“The name of the exhibition is a feminist slogan, which says that no one has the right to dispose of my body, my life, except for me,” the author notes.

Maria Kulikovskaya was born in 1988 in Kerch. He lives and works in Kiev. She graduated from the Master in Architecture at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture. Winner of RutaRuna competitions for young artists of Ukraine and Sweden in 2013. He teaches the visual culture of contemporary art to children at the PinchukArtCentre.
