Masterpieces from the collection of the Bridgestone Museum. Tokyo - Paris.
Paris museumspresents the exhibition "Tokyo - Paris. From the collection of the Tokyo Museum and Bridgestone". The exhibition presents 76 works of famous masters of painting, from Western impressionism to post-war Eastern abstraction. The exhibition introduces rare works by Monet, Renoir, Cezanne, Picasso, Pollock, and abstract of Japanese artist Kazuo Siragi.


Masterpieces from the collection at the Museum of Bridgestone (Bridgestone) were the result of a love for the art of three generations of the industrial dynasty Ishibashi. The founder of Bridgestone, Shojiro Ishibashi (1889-1976), was a passionate collector and admirer of Western painting. His collection, he started collecting in the 30-ies. She was growing so fast that 1952 had to build her a Museum building in Central Tokyo open for all comers. Thanks to the efforts of descendants of the collection has grown to 2,600 works.
