Magritte. The treachery of images
Rene Magritte – one of the key figures in art of the 20th century. However, in Germany monographic exhibition of this Belgian artist are rare: the last was 20 years ago. Now the Schirn gallery in Frankfurt, appealed to the surrealist oeuvre, shedding new light on 70 of his works in the exhibition "Magritte. The treachery of images".

The exhibition "the Treachery of images" is divided into five parts that shed light on the philosophical study of Rene Magritte (1898 – 1967). Gallery Schirn presented mysterious masterpieces, created from the 1920s to the 1960s years. Among them – a symbolic self-portrait "the Lamp of the philosopher" (1936), "the human Condition" (1948), "memories of the sacred" (1960), "Wonderful world" (1962) and "Happy giver" (1966).

Masterpieces of the exhibition "the Treachery of images" has sent the largest international museums and private collections. Among them – the Magritte Museum in Brussels, Berne Museum of fine arts, the Dallas Museum of art, the London Tate gallery, the Metropolitan Museum and the Museum of modern art new York, national gallery of Victoria in Melbourne and the national gallery of art in Washington.
