Exhumation. Social Realism from the OXM collection
Odessa Art Museum presents an exhibition project "Exhumation. Social Realism from the OXM collection "which is a logical continuation of the recently concluded exhibition “Special Fund: Repressed Art”. Exposition
shows totalitarian art in half-life. Art sometimes serves the interests of the authorities, but never before have these relations been so total and uncompromising as under the Stalinist regime. Perhaps not all the works presented at the exhibition have a pronounced artistic value. But they are artifacts of the era, the terrible lessons of which it is impossible to forget.

“We dragged social realism out of the storerooms. What it is. In some places it was half decaying and crumbling. It has nothing to do with the scoop fashion that is progressing among the progressive artistic community of the world. We don’t care about social realism.
"Meeting with the beautiful" will not. You will meet with the truth. With the truth about the raped context, the broken artists and the spat upon art. With the truth about how the center of the world avant-garde was turned into a reserve of retrograde imitation, how revolutionism was replaced by servility.
True analysis of a big lie "- writes the director of the museum, Alexander Roitburd.
