Lazar Khidekel
The State Russian Museum presents an exhibition dedicated to the work of one of Malevich’s students,"Lazar Khidekel".

The exhibition presents more than 80 works from the collection of L. Khidekel family. Among the exhibits are presented both futuristic projects (cities of the future - projects of space housing, Garden City, Aerograd, Aquagorod), and projects of the implemented buildings: on Malokhtinsky and Moskovsky Avenues, on Gorokhovaya Street; cinema "Moscow" on Staro-Petergofsky Avenue and others.

Lazar Markovich Khidekel (1904–1986) is one of the brightest representatives of the Russian avant-garde and the first Suprematist architect. He received art education at the Vitebsk Art School in 1918 under the direction of M. Dobuzhinsky, M. Chagall, K. Malevich, El Lissitzky.

In the collection of the Russian Museum, the works of Lazar Khidekel are not represented. The works from the collection of the architect’s family provide an unique opportunity to get acquainted with the heritage of another brilliant avant-gardist.

Based on the materials of the official site The State Russian Museum.
