Julian opie
National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne opened a solo exhibition Juliana opie, one of the most influential artists of Great Britain. The exhibition consists of a variety of objects, each of which represents the essence of the natural, urban and figurative world. A carp of horses swims behind a wall of a waterfall, stone sheep graze in the gardens, and a group of human figures froze in motion in the lobby.

The central gallery features over forty paintings created from 1993 to the present. Julian Opie's style is very peculiar and is expressed in the creation of digital images with clear black outlines and a space inside filled with simple colors. His work has the features of minimalism and pop art, as well as the art of creating billboards, comics and Japanese xylographs. Opie uses the widest range of materials and technologies, including screen printing, vinyl, liquid crystal displays, LEDs and lenses. At the same time, the artist continues to expand the boundaries of "traditional" artistic practice.

Julian Opie was born in London in 1958 and studied at the Goldsmith College of Art. He lives and works in London, actively exhibiting in the UK and other countries of the world.
