Gallery of Canadian Art McMichael presents the exhibition "David Milne. Modern painting, Organized with the support of the National Gallery of Canada and the Vancouver Art Gallery. The exhibition features more than a hundred works that demonstrate changes in the artist's work - from the impressionist style with bright colors and dynamic strokes to a more restrained visual language in later works. The pictures are supplemented with photographs, drawings and memorabilia of Milne, which have not been exhibited before.

David Milne (1882 - 1953) studied painting in one of the art schools in New York. In 1913 he presented his works at the international exhibition of contemporary art. During the First World War he was a military artist, and in 1929 he moved from the USA to Canada and settled in the province of Ontario. Approximately half of the paintings created by Miln were painted in oil, and the rest of the paintings were painted with watercolors.
