The State Art Gallery in Sopot and the Lviv National Art Gallery named after B. G. Voznitsky present the exhibition “Adam Smolyan / Lviv 1921 - Sopot 1987". The exposition includes wooden sculptures, as well as graphics, works of plaster and metal.

Adam Smolyan (1921, Lviv - 1987, Sopot) - sculptor, graphic artist, teacher. He worked with different materials: granite, metal, gypsum, ceramics, was fond of photography. The themes of his work were focused on the person, his character, beauty and condition.

The artist drew inspiration from the heritage of ancient culture, primarily Greek mythology. The author used technical solutions of folk craftsmen. His works are dominated by classical themes with a classical form, somewhat cubist and geometrized, with links to a realistic prototype.
