Judy Chicago - End: meditation on death and extinction

Exhibition September 19, 2019 − January 20, 2020
Judy Chicago has built her career on expanding the boundaries. Her latest work, a series called "End: death and extinction meditationIs no exception. Nearly 40 works from painted porcelain and glass, as well as in two large bronze sculptures of Chicago, have been studying human mortality and species extinction.

The National Museum of Women's Art is the first place where this new series is shown, made in a bold graphic style, which has become the artist's business card. Bright images of Chicago are an internal antidote to a culture that values youth and beauty and often ignores the suffering of other creatures.

The End: Deaths and Extinctions Meditation exhibit Chicago’s commitment to questioning the status quo through the use of complex materials and objects.
