Artist Roman Rakhmatulin (Romulen) was born in 1986 in St. Petersburg. Successively graduating from an architectural college and the Moscow Architectural Institute, he successfully worked in the field of interior design, having completed many completed projects of residential and public buildings. Nevertheless, the main meaning of his creative life has always been painting. The final choice in favor of pure art was made by the artist in 2009. However, a solid experience in interior design and architecture was not in vain: almost all of his works today are not only interesting as artifacts, but also quite decorative. The artist traveled extensively in Russia (especially the Russian North), India, Great Britain, and lived in the USA for a rather long time. In New York, Romulen worked with well-known American artists, and his work was shown in important galleries, for example, in the Manhattan Ward-Nasse Gallery, where in 2014 a personal exhibition was held. A few years ago, Roman finally returned to Moscow, continuing to work actively and exhibit.
