My name is Vladimir Skvortsov. I was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
Saint Petersburg is a famous art center and home to one of the world's largest museums - The Hermitage.
I've been sketching and drawing for as long as I can remember, but I did not have enough time to devote myself fully to painting. When I retired and came to Canada I began to realize my dreams as an artist. I was truly impressed by how many wonderful people from many countries I met here. Portraits have taken a significant place in my work ever since. If I can not paint a model in my studio I try to use video for making portraits and not just photos. It helps to avoid static portraits that are not lifelike. In portraits I try reflect the emotional state of each person.
