Canada and the Impressionists. New Horizons

Exhibition September 19, 2020 − January 3, 2021
The Fabre Museum (Montpellier) organizes an exhibition“Canada and the Impressionists. New Horizons".

Visitors will see more than a hundred paintings by the best impressionist artists of the late 19th - early 20th centuries from the collections of museums in Canada and private collections.

The exhibition traces the discovery and assimilation of impressionism by two generations of Canadian artists from 1880 to 1920. For them, a trip to France was an obligatory route for learning and applying a new pictorial language, preserving the spirit of adventure, reflecting an individual vision of local landscapes, reflecting personality traits and reviving the culture of their country.
