The National Gallery in Prague in the halls of the Schwarzenberg Palace presents an exposition"Old masters".
Visitors can see a collection of masterpieces of fine art of the XVI - XVIII centuries. Among the authors represented are Hans von Aachen, Peter Brandt, Mathias Bernard Brown, Lucas Cranach, Adrian de Vries, Albrecht Durer, El Greco, Francisco José Goya, Hans Holbein, Jan Gossert Mabuse, Giuseppe de Ribera, Peter Paul Rubens, Peter Paul Rubens, Peter Paul Rubens, Karel Shkreta, Simon Voet, Michael Leopold Wilman and others.
The main time frame of the project is the period from the 16th to the 18th century, based on a retrospective look at the trends of the Renaissance in Gothic art and ancient works as an inspiration for Renaissance and Baroque art. The exhibition is conceived as a dialogue between national and international impulses, influences and changes in the spirit of the dialectic of forms, styles and motives. From a dramatic point of view, it reflects the narrative aspects of European art from Antiquity to the Enlightenment, the historical context and the eternity of masterpieces in innovative installations.
