Albrecht Durer

Exhibition June 4 − September 12, 2021
Albrecht Durer(1471-1528) - one of the most significant artists of the Renaissance. With his paintings and engravings, he set the standards of European art, not only for his time, but also for centuries. His copper engravings and woodcuts, in particular, have achieved far-reaching effectiveness.

Inspired by rich collections of drawings and engravings by the artist, Hamburg Kunsthalle continues a series of exhibitions of works by outstanding artists, begun with Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt and Raphael. The focus is on sixteen exquisite hand-made drawings by the artist, as well as an extensive selection of more than 450 drawings from the Hamburg collection.
