Collection of the Rzhevsky brothers in the Russian Museum

The State Russian Museum invites visitors to see the exhibition of items from the collection of St. Petersburg collectorsbrothers Jacob Alexandrovich and Joseph Alexandrovich Rzhevsky.

Among the exhibits are works by I. Aivazovsky, A. and Alb. Benoit, M. Dobuzhinsky, A. Ivanov, P. Konchalovsky, B. Kustodiev, V. Lebedev, M. Nesterov, K. Petrov-Vodkin, Z. Serebryakova, I. Shishkin. A special place in the collection of the Rzhevskys is occupied by furniture, floor and mantel clocks of Western Europe and Russia of the 18th-19th centuries. Many of these items have no analogues in domestic museum collections.

A unique collection of the Rzhevsky brothers, including works of painting, graphics, sculpture and decorative art, has been formed for more than half a century. In total, it consists of 503 works, half of which are paintings and graphics of the second half of the XIX - early XX centuries.
