Power Station Contemporary Art Gallery Toronto Presents Rashid Johnson's ExhibitionAnxious audience". In his works, the author uses the rich symbolism and history of the African-American distinctive culture. For this exhibition, the master developed a new ambitious work, encompassing visitors with many portraits carved from West African black soap and wax on white tile panels. Reflecting a sense of collective anxiety through a “pull through erasure” process into viscous black surfaces.

Rashid Johnson was born in 1977 in Chicago. The master’s works are known for their narrative embedding of a number of everyday materials and objects that refer to the collective aspects of African American intellectual history and cultural identity. Participates in numerous exhibitions around the world. Lives and works in New York.
