With the bicentennial, Aivazovsky. Odessa

Exhibition July 27 − September 30, 2017
Odessa art Museum presents an exhibition of works by Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky. It is timed to the 200 anniversary from the birthday of the genius of the painter.

All the paintings presented in the exhibition taken from the Museum's collection, one of the largest in Ukraine. The works cover the period between 1830 and 1899. A variety of genres and subjects, from family portrait with his wife to a winter landscape, watercolour drawings of the period of academic study the famous marine makes this exhibition truly unique.

Ivan Konstantinovich was one of the first masters of the NINETEENTH century who held personal exhibitions and charity auctions. His paintings have been shown in many cities, including in Odessa. The artist's work here in great demand – Odessa citizens love the sea, and it is so much in the paintings of Aivazovsky!

The exhibition will run from 27 July to 30 September. Also in celebration of the anniversary of Aivazovsky will be held thematic events: tours, conferences, presentation of the special issue of "Bulletin of the OC".
