"In the name of one novel"- an exhibition of twenty-two lithographs from the collection of the Haggerty Museum of Art, created by artist Ben Shan. The prints illustrate some excerpts from the only novel by Rainer Maria Rilke" Notes by Malte Lorids Brigge "(1910). This semi-autobiographical novel tells the story of a college student from an aristocratic Dat family who lived in Paris in the early 1900s. The book made a deep and lasting impression on Shan. Although Shan first read the novel, visiting Paris in the 1920s, he did not create illustrations until 196 8 years.
