James Tissot: Fashion and Faith

The San Francisco Museums of Fine Arts and the Orsay Museum in Paris are jointly organizing an exhibition "James Tissot: Fashion and Faith, The first major reassessment of the artist’s career over the past 20 years. In San Francisco, this international retrospective will examine about 60 paintings, additional works on paper and Tissot cloisonne enamels.
The main exhibits are taken from the permanent collections of the San Francisco Museum of Fine Arts, including the Tissot Self Portrait (circa 1865), as well as engravings and photographs from the Achenbach Foundation of Graphic Arts.
