French modern: from Monet to Matisse, 1850–1950

Exhibition "French modern: from Monet to Matisse, 1850–1950"represents about 65 works of art from the famous European collection of the Brooklyn Museum and positions France as the artistic center of international modernism from the mid-19th to the mid-20th centuries.

These paintings, drawings and sculptures, varying widely in scale, subject and style, were intended for public display and for private collections and were created by leading artists of the era, born in France, as well as those who studied and exhibited there.

The exhibition presents the works of such masters: Henri Fantin-Latour, Alfred Sisley, Paul Cezanne, Berthe Morisot, Edgar Degas, Giovanni Boldini, Claude Monet, Camille Corot, Auguste Rodin and others.
