Alex Katz

An exhibition is held at the Osaka Art Gallery Tezukayama Alex katz. The author has created his own personality with the help of the simplest elements - lines and colors. He is best known for his sharply cropped portraits and landscapes, as well as bold and flat color. Alex Katz supports pop art figurative traditions and works a lot with prints and silk-screen printing.

Alex Katz was born in 1927 in New York to a family of Russian immigrants. He studied at the Cooper Union Art School in New York. Received a scholarship to study at the School of Painting and Sculpture Scouhan. His works are recognized worldwide and are kept in many of the largest and most famous collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Metropolitan Museum, New York; Tate Gallery, London; Center Georges Pompidou, Paris.
