Alternative Worlds

Exhibition April 7 − August 18, 2019
Queens Museum presents an exhibition "Alternative Worlds: Fiction and Science Fiction in America".

The exhibition brings together contemporary artists from all over America, who have used the ability of science fiction to present new realities, both utopian and anti-utopian. Science fiction offers a unique artistic landscape in which you can explore the colonial enterprises that shaped America and present alternative perspectives that speculate on the past and the future. In the works presented at the exhibition, most of which were created over the past two decades, artists use images of science fiction to offer and present various ways of being in the world.

The exhibition offers an innovative report on the intersection of science fiction, technoculture and visual art.
