Gallery "AS" in Kharkov continues a series of exhibitions "Masters", which represents the work of the iconic Kharkov artists. The exhibition "Life in Art" is dedicated to Sergey Lunev. The exposition will be made up of works from the family archive of the Lunev family.
Sergey Lunev is an extraordinary figure in the history of Ukrainian art. The heyday of the artist falls on the 60-70-ies of the XX century. He was one of those artists whose imaginative innovations became a serious stage in the development of Ukrainian watercolor painting. The world of Lunev's images is attracted by a heightened reflection of life, the originality of artistic thinking, and the emotionality of his works and artistry of performance make us now look at the world through the eyes of this outstanding master.
Sergey Lunev was born in 1909 in the Kharkov province. He studied at the art studio in Sumy, Kharkov art college. Member of the Kharkov branch of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR since 1958. Participant in numerous exhibitions. He died in Kharkov in 1978.
