Exhibition February 21 − June 2, 2019
The Frick Collection presents an exhibition "Moroni: Renaissance Portrait Wealth"- The first major exhibition in the United States, dedicated to the portrait of Giovanni Battista Moroni (1520 / 24–1579 / 80).

An artist of portraits and religious paintings, Moroni is considered an important figure in northern Italian traditional naturalistic painting, which includes Leonardo da Vinci, Carracci and Caravaggio.

This exhibition, presented exclusively in the Frick Collection, reveals the innovations of the artist, whose role in the great history of European portraiture has not yet been fully studied.

The exhibition presents about twenty of the most exciting portraits of the artist's brush, along with a selection of additional exhibits - jewelry, textiles, armor and other luxury items, collected from international private and public collections, such as National Gallery (London),Carrara Academy (Bergamo) and Museum of Art History (Vienna).
