Alex Katz

In celebration of the Art Month in Hong Kong, Sotheby's auction house presents the debut exhibition of an American artist Alex katz. The exhibition includes iconic portraits and landscapes created by 91-year-old titan of modern art. The author is known for his sharply cropped portraits and landscapes, as well as bold and flat color.

Alex Katz was born in 1927 in New York to a family of Russian immigrants. He studied at the Cooper Union Art School in New York. Received a scholarship to study at the School of Painting and Sculpture Scouhan. His works are recognized worldwide and are kept in many of the largest and most famous collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Metropolitan Museum, New York; Tate Gallery, London; Center Georges Pompidou, Paris.
