Paul Klee

Exhibition November 16, 2018 − March 17, 2019
National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa presents a solo exhibition Paul Klee from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The exhibition consists of 75 drawings, watercolors and paintings. The works of the outstanding German avant-garde artist, whom the Nazis denounced as the representative of "degenerative art", had a noticeable influence on the world post-war art. The exhibition shows the entire creative path of the artist - from childhood, through his most prolific period as a teacher in the famous Bauhaus, until his death in 1940.

Creativity Paul Klee with equal reason attributed to the main artistic trends of the XX century - expressionism, cubism, surrealism, abstractionism, and his name rightly takes place among the first masters of non-objective art - next to Kandinsky, Malevich, Mondrian and Delone, not inferior to them . Today Paul Klee is one of the most sought-after artists.
