Worked at the Institute of art history in Moscow. KN. "The Indian art" (1964) , "the art of the South-East. Of Asia" (1967). Author of paintings, sculptures, 1958-participant of exhibitions. From 1971 he lived in London.
The son of the great composer Sergei Prokofiev, was born in Paris. When he was seven years old, his parents moved to Moscow, where he lived for the next 35 years.
1949-1952 worked in the Studio R. Falk. In Moscow in the mid-1950s Prokofiev joined a group of artists, Zlotnikov, slepyan, Turkish – founders of movement of non-conformism in the Soviet Union.
To the West, Prokofiev emigrated in 1971 after the death of his second wife, the British art historian Camilla gray. Until the end of his life the artist lived in London with his new family. During this period Prokofiev inspired creatively worked. In the works of this time felt the influence of modern Western art in conjunction with the Russian avant-garde of the 1920s and the non-conformism of the 1960s.
In 1994, ended a long period of Prokofiev's work on "the constructivist-organic sculpture". Since that time, the artist began to focus solely on the painting.
