Albert van Ouwater (Aelbert van Ouwater Albert van Ouwater) (CA. 1415, presumably Oudewater near Gouda. 1475, Haarlem), was a Dutch painter.

About albert van Ouwater a lack of information. Most of the information is contained in the "Book of the artists" Karel van Mander in which Ouwater is described mostly as a famous master of landscape. Besides landscapes Owater wrote apparently are some religious paintings, one of which is identified by description in the book, van Mander. It 1450-1460. "Resurrection of Lazarus", which is stored in the Berlin art gallery and to date is the only picture, no doubt owned by brush Outer.

Nothing is known about the years of education of the artist. Critics believe that while staying in the southern Netherlands, Owater acquainted with the works of Jan van Eyck, Petrus Christus, Rogier van der Weyden and Dirk Bouts. Judging by the "Resurrection of Lazarus", a special influence on the creative manner of Ouwater had the Dirk Bouts whose typing shapes, motor types, and clothing depicted is very close to the canvas of the Berlin gallery. Ouwater was an excellent colourist, who owned the smallest nuances of the color palette and building prospects.

In art history often attempts to identify Ouwater with other hitherto unknown artists. Obateru, for example, was attributed the authorship of "Tiburtina sibyl," the landscape miniatures of the Turin Beautiful book of hours of the virgin the Duke of Berry and images of saints. All these efforts have not received universal support, critics or have been refuted. So did attempts to attribute Obateru other paintings based on the analysis of the "Resurrection of Lazarus". Only a fragment of the image of the head stored in the Metropolitan Museum in new York, shows a similarity with the Berlin picture Ouwater.
