David Milne. Contemporary painting

Pinacoteca Dalida is a major exhibition one of the leading contemporary canadian artists David Milne (1882 – 1953). For the first time in Britain shows a wide selection of watercolor paintings, drawings and photographs that demonstrate the originality of his artistic vision. Intensively experimenting and working often alone in the wild, Milne has created a lot of landscapes in which traces the influence of Monet, Matisse and Cezanne.
The exhibition is organized in chronological order – from the busy streets of new York to war-torn landscape of Northern France and Belgium, then back to the forest, to the fields and to the sky North-Eastern United States and Canada. The focus is on the experiments of Milne with color, line and space, as well as on his skill in the transfer of visual effects of light and reflections.
