Description of the artwork «"Silver Day," from the "Altai Notebook" series»

The block "Silver Day" included a recollection of the overcast days of the Altai trip. In the Altai mountains there is a special, unusual for a city dweller, somewhat incomprehensible, but very attractive, kind, friendly and hospitable atmosphere. In all the inhabitants - both in people and animals - one can feel a genuine simplicity, and almost unshakeable calm and peace... But at the same time, you constantly notice the constant movement of the air - low clouds literally run right overhead, rivers flow violently and determinedly, the winds often change directions, the clear sky is instantly obscured by clouds. Nature is calm, grandiose and majestic, but it never stands still, never stops.
The rainy and foggy days did not disappoint us, as we were able to see a lot of motifs . Here are their own, unique color states in fog or rain. The gray and silvery hues are rarely subtle and varied. The mountain rain brought a little memory back to St. Petersburg, with its harsh dark silver gamut. In the highlands, the clouds, misty streaks and rains seem light and delicate despite their massiveness. The silvery understated gamut is very rich in complex subtle hues. The multidimensionality of the mountains is beautiful in the variety of their colors, their organicity. The grayness and overcast cannot shake the majesty of the centuries-old mountains, rising motionless above the horizon.
Therefore, visiting any "place of power" is beneficial for anyone living in a humdrum city, especially for an artist. This is one way to get out of depression caused by information overload, bad news and lack of fresh air. Travel, walk in the fresh air more often, and you'll be fine!
