The creaky parquet and the smell of old furniture, the worn paint on the walls in the hallway, it was as if they had traveled back in time. The same full-length mirror that so frightened them at night reflected their grown-up sister and brother. The apartment was just like their grandmother's.

The first thing Mitil did was to run to the bedroom, but she found only a black cat. The apartment was empty and yet it didn't seem abandoned. The bed was made up with sheets with stars, familiar from her childhood. Without undressing, she lay on her bed, breathed in the smell of freshly laundered linen, and dissolved into a feeling of coziness, comfort, and security.

A huge red cat was sleeping on the living room couch. Tiltil went to the kitchen, brewed some coffee, and returned to the living room. The cat paid no attention to him, and Mithil was indulging in reminiscences in her room. Tiltil chased the cat off the couch, wrapped himself in his grandmother's colorful plaid and fell asleep.
