The Charoite Series

In August, the idea of a series of works came to me. More precisely, the color "entered" my head. And settled in so tightly. It happens so often. By the way, sometimes you notice that it enters not only your head, but also your favorite artists begin to actively use a similar color, its shade or color scheme, and there and the publications of the year from Pantone can surprise you. The same direction.

This is the first work in the Charoite series. Charoite is a popular semi-precious stone for Russia, more often ornamental, although pure specimens are also used by jewelers. Its gorgeous shades of violet tones are especially lovely. Its most important advantage is its uniqueness. This mineral of the pyroxene group of the subclass of chain silicates is mined exclusively in Siberia, on the border of the Irkutsk and Yakutia regions. It was first discovered by Soviet geologists in a remote taiga in the middle of the last century. The stone is mined in the vicinity of the Chara River, from which it takes its name. It is hard not to agree, the stone is really charming. Although this is not quite the right interpretation. The fact is that "Chara" means simply "shoal" in Yakut and Evenki.

It is interesting how closely the idea of charoite (the very shade and color) is intertwined in my thoughts with the idea of a certain underwater kingdom. I was creating intuitively, thinking about underwater worlds, and today, when I was preparing this text, I learned that Chara is a river. Right, the knowledge that is stored in the noosphere is boundless and touching it is unique. I am convinced every time.
