Boris and Gleb Monastery in Torzhok is one of the oldest Russian Orthodox monasteries. It was founded by the Monk Ephraim about 1038, during the reign of Yaroslav I Vladimirovich. The name of the monastery is connected with the names of the Russian princes Boris and Gleb, in whose honor the first temple was laid.
