The exhibition presents the masterpieces of artists such as Titian, Peter Paul Rubens, Anthony van Dyck and Michael Swerts. Masterpieces from Flemish collections, both public and private, are rarely exhibited, and some have never been publicly displayed.
Also at the exhibition will be presented the coveted altar “St. Catherine” (or “An Angel Foretells St. Catherine of Alexandria Her Martyrdom”) by Jacopo Tintoretto, owned by David Bowie. Belgian art lover Marnix Nerman acquired the painting in 2016 at the posthumous sale of the collection of the cult singer and actor.
