About the exhibition
Casey McGlynn’s paintings are visual components of autobiography and collective memory, both literal and infinitely symbolic. Strongly referenced images — animals, people, popular media, text documents — tell scenes from the artist’s life, and also awaken the viewer's imagination through allegory and archetype. Working with a combination of techniques, McGlynn fills this timeless visual repertoire with modern life: an adventurous exploration of color, humor and satire. McGlynn's compositions reflect the chaos of life, and also allow his viewer to insert his own story in the contemplative space.

McGlynn's works can be found in a number of private and public collections in both Canada and the United States. Most recently, his work was acquired for the HBC Global Art Collection in New York.
