Red poppies bright, open, almost a bunch, on the table in a vase. The curtain swaying on the window. It was all there, but I don't want to let it go. Maybe it was a dream or a deception. But it was. And there's an understatement, a sadness, a longing. So bright is the color of the flowers, so alive are the petals in their curves. So fresh are the memories.
Everything was, and we are here now, and we will still have it.
