The museum in Yegoryevsk was created in 1911 on the initiative and at the expense of the local textile manufacturer and philanthropist Mikhail Nikiforovich Bardygin.
The book "Egorievsky wonders. Treasures, curiosities and other wonderful things from the collection of M.N. Bardygin, now the collection of the Yegoryevsky Museum of History and Art, the second edition of the First Publication series, tells about the outstanding collection of the Yegoryevsky Museum near Moscow, which arose in 1911 on the basis of the collection of the textile manufacturer M.N. Bardygin (1864-1933). The museum became the winner of the annual contest “First Publication”, held by the Interros Publishing Program and the V. Potanin Charity Fund.
