The Multimedia Art Museum, Moscow (MAMM), was formerly known as the Moscow House of Photography (MDF) and the Multimedia Complex of Contemporary Arts (MKAI), the first art museum based in post-Soviet Moscow.
It was founded as the Moscow House of Photography by the Government of Moscow at the initiative of Olga Sviblova in 1996.
The funds of the museum today have more than 80 thousand original prints and negatives. The MAMM collection contains works by famous Russian photographers - Alexander Grinberg, Max Penson, Yuri Eremin, Ivan Shagin, Anatoly Egorov, Dmitry Baltermants, Vadim Gushchin, Francisco Infante, Evgeni Mironov, Evgeni Antufiev and others.
MAMM organized and accepted ready-made projects for more than 1,500 exhibitions of Russian and foreign photography in Moscow, Russian regions, and foreign countries, including exhibitions by masters of Russian and Western photography: Nobuyoshi Araki, Dmitry Baltermants, Brassai, Nan Goldin, Anatoly Egorov, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Annie Leibowitz, Helmut Newton, Max Penson, George Petrusov, Alexander Rodchenko, Vsevolod Tarasevich and many others.
