The Romanov Museum

Kostroma
The Romanov Museum is a museum in Kostroma, created in 1913 to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty, one of the most famous structures built specifically for the museum in provincial cities of Russia.

Currently, the building exhibits collections of paintings (museum in the museum) by E.V. Chestnyakova (among them are such famous canvases as "Festive procession with a song. Kolyada" and "City of General Welfare") and B. M. Kustodiev.

In addition, the museum has a permanent exhibition "Kostroma Boyars: Personnel for the Throne" dedicated to the events of the Time of Troubles and the fate of two boyar families - Godunovs and Romanovs, as well as monthly exhibitions of contemporary Russian artists.
