Giovanni Santi (ital. Giovanni Santi; 1435, Urbino - August 1, 1494, Urbino) - Italian Renaissance artist, father Rafael Santi. Giovanni Santi learned from Piero della Francesca. Santi senior was a court painter at Duke Urbino Federigo da Montefeltroand a high-ranking official, someone like the Minister of Education and Culture of his successor Guidobaldo. Giovanni Santi often wrote Madonn with Infants, and, perhaps, his wife and son, Raphael, posed for him.
