Opened in 2014 “Elektromuzey in Rostokino” Association “showrooms Moscow” is the only Russian exhibition space, specializing in media art.
The curators of the gallery artists Alexei Shulgin and Aristarkh Chernyshev (Electroboutique project participants and faculty of the Rodchenko School) is convinced that the electronic, digital and interactive projects appeal to a mass audience and speak in a language he understands, being a reflection of the new reality, certain technological progress and, in particular, the emergence and development of the Internet and new media. In addition, they occupy a vanguard position in the system of contemporary art. Mission Elektromuzeya is, therefore, popularization of media art, educational activities and demonstration of current trends in the field of contemporary art and support native artists working in this field.
In one of the halls of the Museum there is SA))_gallery (curator — Sergey Kasich) — Russia's first stationary gallery, technically and conceptually specializing in modern sound art. Gallery created and supported by the community SoundArtist.ru is for listening to multi-channel spatial audio installations and sound sculptures.
Over the past two years elektromuzee held more than twenty exhibitions, including solo exhibition of Vladimir dubosarskiy, Vladislav Efimov, Dmitry Morozov (aka ::Vtol::), Andrei of Lublin, the first in Russia exhibition of GIF art “GIF-GIF-GAF“, the exhibition project “Antimony“ and others. The Museum includes educational Studio for children and Teens, master classes, workshops, lectures, performances, performances of sound artists and electronic musicians.
In 2015, the project"Elektromuzey in Rostokino" became the winner of the grant contest of the Vladimir Potanin Foundation on the program "Museum guide" in the nomination "the Amazing museums".
