Depicting Russia. Landscape painting from the collection of the State Tretyakov Gallery

The Tretyakov Gallery presents an exhibition «Depicting Russia. Landscape painting from the collection of the State Tretyakov Gallery». This project is a great opportunity to show the most interesting works from the collection of the Tretyakov Gallery, some of which were previously in the vaults and have not been exhibited before. The exhibition includes 55 works of thirty-six Russian artists, demonstrating the evolution of the landscape in the domestic art at the turn of the XIX and XX centuries.

It is noteworthy that this is the first exhibition of a new, recently opened landscape exhibition space. parka «Charge».

The exhibits reflect the development of landscape Russian art for 200 years. Pictures of famous masters - А.К. Savrasova, I.I. Levitan, B.M. Kustodiyev, are exhibited along with the works of artists, whose work may become a real discovery for visitors - E.F. Junge, A.V. Moravov and, of course, A.A. Borisov.

The exhibition consists of seven sections, united according to thematic and partly chronological principle: «Capital», «Exploring the country», «Tradition and fairy tales», «Time forward», «In nature, nothing changes», «In the area of eternal ice».
